The comfortable rooms at SALT of Palmar are well appointed with amenities including organic bathrobes made from coffee beans, a selection of books and locally produced toiletries. Vibrant colours and modern décor make rooms feel bright and spacious, and all rooms are complete with a balcony or terrace overlooking either the gardens or the ocean. For those who like to be right on the beachfront, you can’t get much closer than the Bang on Beach rooms, which offer stunning and uninterrupted views.
Good food is an integral part of Mauritian culture, and this is reflected in the delicious dishes that can be sampled at SALT of Palmar. The Good Kitchen offers an extensive menu showcasing the best local produce, with some excellent vegan and vegetarian options to try. SALT Bakery meanwhile offers homemade bread and tempting pastries. One of our favourite spots though is the rooftop bar, which is the perfect place to enjoy a creative cocktail whilst taking in views of the crystal-clear lagoon below.
SALT of Palmar offers unique experiences and activities. Guests have the opportunity to connect directly with locals via a Skill Swap, where they can share their talents with a local professional, or learn a new skill from a local, such as painting, basket weaving or soap making. Another highlight of the hotel is their innovative spa, where guests can customise a treatment with their therapist based on their individual requirements. Each treatment is rounded off by a session in the Salt Room, where guests are invited to relax and breathe in the Himalayan salt vapours, which helps to boost the immune system.

SALT of Palmar is such a unique property. I loved the homely atmosphere and the fact that everything is either made on site or sourced locally. The resort has a clear focus on sustainability and social responsibility, which was great to see. I very much enjoyed lunch at The Good Kitchen, where there is an amazing range of dishes on offer, including a selection of interesting vegan options, which I was tempted to try!
All rooms at SALT of Palmar have air-conditioning, a king-size bed (twin beds available on request), a rain shower, locally produced toiletries, bathrobes, yoga mat and block, roberts radio, telephone, tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer, safe, Wi-Fi and a locally made beach bag. Guests have the option of a room with a garden or sea view from the balcony, or a poolside room with a balcony.
