Sun Siyam Iru Fushi is a stunning hideaway, tucked within the unspoilt Noonu Atoll and occupying a spacious island with 52 acres of powdery white beach and tropical vegetation. The luxurious island resort is reached by a scenic 45 minute seaplane ride, and a dedicated seaplane lounge at Male airport allows guests to relax or freshen up before the onward journey. A range of luxurious villas

Accommodation is in spacious villas which are located on the beach or over the lagoon, all with stylish furnishings and luxurious amenities. The Beach Villas all benefit from open-air bathrooms in a private courtyard as well as a spacious sundeck leading out onto the beach, and many also boast a private swimming pool. The Family Deluxe Beach Villas are perfect for adults and children travelling together, as sliding doors separate the living area from the bedroom to offer additional privacy. The Water Villas meanwhile offer unparalleled views of the lagoon, which guests can take in whilst relaxing on their private sundeck.

Excellent range of gourmet dining options

Making the most of the local fresh fish and seafood, the chefs at Iru Fushi conjure up succulent and tempting cuisine from around the world, whether it's a romantic six-course dinner under the stars or a leisurely al fresco lunch on the beach. There are 14 bars and restaurants to choose from, ranging from the fine dining Taste of India to the casual Islander's Grill, promising something to suit all tastes. Be sure to try the seafood at Islander’s Grill, which goes straight from local fishing boats to the barbecue!

Family friendly facilities plus a stunning spa

Children under the age of 15 years old stay and eat free of charge when sharing with two adults at Sun Siyam Iru Fushi. This, along with its superb kids club, means the resort is a great option for families. Other facilities include a PADI centre, a water sports centre and a variety of landsports. Guests can discover the house reef, while a vast range of excursions are also available including snorkelling safaris, dolphin sunset cruises and big game fishing. We would also highly recommend a visit to the spa, which is surrounded by tropical vegetation and has to be one of the most beautiful spas we have seen in the Maldives.

Our opinion

Iru Fushi is quite something. My meal at Flavours was easily some of the best food I have ever eaten and the buffet breakfast at Iru was so spectacular, it has to be seen to be believed! I was lucky enough to stay in a Deluxe Beach Villa with Pool, which is just steps from the beach - absolute paradise.
