The resort is within easy reach of a number of some of the best dive sites in the Maldives, and the South Ari Atoll is of course the best place to see whale sharks and manta rays. LUX* South Ari Atoll’s PADI diving centre allows guests to explore the beautiful dive sites that surround the island. Snorkelling trips are also available and guests have the opportunity to swim whale sharks, as the resort is situated in the heart of a large Marine Protected Area with a significant population all year round. Our opinion

LUX* South Ari Atoll is a great option for those looking for a chic, contemporary resort with excellent facilities and dining options. Although there is no house reef, this is a good base for those keen to experience swimming with whale sharks.

LUX* South Ari Atoll offers a selection of pavilions, suites and villas, some on stilts over the water and others set along the beach. All accommodation options have a furnished terrace, air-conditioning, ceiling fans, LUX* bathroom amenities, slippers and bathrobes, TV & home theatre system, telephone, minibar, tea & coffee making facilities, hairdryer and Wi-Fi.

Beach Pavilion

These semi-detached pavilions are set directly on the beach and just steps from the lagoon

Location: LUX* South Ari Atoll is located in the south Ari Atoll, reached by a 25 minute seaplane transfer

Children: Children are welcome at LUX* all year round. The PLAY Kids club play is available for children between ages 3 and 12, and STUDIO 17 offers teens aged 12-17 a space to socialise

Allegia is open for dinner and offers Italian cuisine served directly on the beach. East Market is set on stilts over the water serving dishes from South East Asia, with live cooking stations and an atmosphere typical of a market in Asia. Open for breakfast and dinner. Umami is open for dinner and serves fine Japanese cuisine in a chic setting. Beach Rouge is open for lunch and dinner and serves Mediterranean dishes in a lively beach club atmosphere.
