The Maldives is the perfect destination for a romantic getaway, with the beautiful ocean views and spacious and luxurious accommodation over pristine lagoons, there really is no better place to be. Currently it is not yet possible for foreigners to get married in the Maldives, but some resorts will hold purely ceremonial events for couples, however, it is possible to conduct a renewal of vows in the Maldives. That aside, the following are just some of our favourite romantic resorts, followed by a list of the all the Honeymoon style resorts in the Maldives.

Sun Siyam Vilu Reef Maldives is a luxurious island resort with one of the most amazing beaches that we have ever seen! Small and intimate with expansive white sand beaches fringed by a superb aquamarine house reef, this island is one of our favourites for couples and honeymooners.

Mirihi Island Resort is one of our favourite islands, just perfect for a quiet, intimate holiday or honeymoon. However, with so few rooms and such an excellent reputation for high quality, good food and relaxation, you will need to book very early to avoid disappointment.
The 37 tastefully appointed villas all have designer furnishings, polished wooden floors, king size or twin beds, air-conditioning, a ceiling fan and a fully stocked mini bar. Beach Villas are extremely spacious and boast an open-air bathroom and direct beach access. Water Villas are built on stilts over the lagoon, all with large, luxurious bathrooms overlooking the ocean through large sliding glass doors. The resort is known as being a 'no news, no shoes' island and as such there has been a conscious decision not to supply televisions in the rooms - however for those who cannot live without the cricket score, there is a satellite TV in the lobby!
