Langley Resort Fort Royal is located on a scenic stretch of beach on Basse Terre, just outside the charming town of Deshaies. The resort offers guests an excellent range of facilities, whilst also being in an ideal location for getting out and exploring the extensive natural beauty that entices so many visitors to Guadeloupe. It is also one of Death in Paradise’s regular filming locations and where the cast often stay when on island.
Rooms at Langley Resort Fort Royal are bright and spacious with warm and homely décor. Accommodation comprises rooms and suites in the main building, most with a sea view, and bungalows offering either garden view, partial sea views or a beachfront location. We would definitely recommend a Beachfront Bungalow, which offers intimate accommodation in a stunning location.
The restaurant at Langley Resort Fort Royal serves international cuisine with local influences, using locally sourced produce wherever possible. Guests can also enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of Kawann Beach Bar, which is open throughout the day and is the perfect spot to enjoy a pizza and glass of wine. Meanwhile Deshaies is just a short taxi ride away if you prefer to try some nearby restaurants.
Langley Resort Fort Royal is surrounded by rainforest and mountains and the resort offers a range of excursions including volcano trekking and guided hikes. They can also assist with arranging car hire for those who prefer to explore the island more independently. A Death in Paradise tour is always a popular option for fans of the television show, and this can either be arranged through the hotel or with a local guide. Back at the hotel, the Sail & Surf centre offers a range of watersports, and Guadeloupe is also a popular destination for divers.
If you are a fan of Death in Paradise then this is the place to stay! Several of the cast were staying at the hotel when we were there, and the hotel will also arrange tours that take you to many of the famous filming locations.
Langley Resort Fort Royal offers a combination of Bungalows set within the resort's gardens and hotel rooms with views of the ocean. All rooms are bright and spacious and room amenities include air conditioning, complimentary toiletries, hair dryers, TV, telephone, mini fridge, and in-room safe.
