If you are looking for a base from which to explore Grenada, we cannot recommend Blue Horizons Garden Resort highly enough. This family owned, eco-friendly hotel is located just 300 yards from the famous Grand Anse beach and five miles from the historic capital city of St George’s. One of our favourite things about the property is the lush tropical gardens which provide a habitat for 27 species of tropical birds and seem more beautiful each time we visit!
Blue Horizons offers self-catering accommodation set amongst the gardens on a gently sloping hillside. The simple yet spacious accommodation comprises 32 self-contained studios and suites with a balcony or terrace overlooking the gardens or ocean beyond. Our tip would be to request one of the suites towards the top of the resort, as these offer stunning views towards Grand Anse Beach.
Guests at Blue Horizons Garden Resort can wake up to breakfast accompanied by stunning views over the garden and harbour beyond, followed by lunch and dinner al fresco on the Aqua Terrace. A supermarket is close by, ideal for those who prefer to use the self-catering facilities of their suite, and there are also some excellent local restaurants nearby. The Tropic Breeze team have tried out many of them and we’d be happy to share our recommendations!
Days at Blue Horizons Garden Resort can be spent relaxing by the tranquil swimming pool, or if you prefer to feel the sand between your toes, just stroll across to Grand Anse Beach. It is easy to get out and explore the local area, and there is no shortage of things to see and do in Grenada! Why not explore the pretty capital of St George’s, take a snorkelling trip to the Underwater Sculpture Park or visit the Belmont Estate, where the island produces its own cocoa.
The gardens at Blue Horizons are just beautiful. It is the perfect resort if you are looking for value for money and ideal if you want to get out and explore the island.
