Waves Hotel & Spa in Barbados is part of the Elegant Hotels group and offers its guests an all-inclusive experience with a focus on wellness. As one of the southernmost hotels on the Platinum Coast, this resort works well as a base for exploring both the south and west coast of the island.
Accommodation at Waves Hotel & Spa has been designed with the natural scenery in mind, using neutral tones of the sand and sea accompanied by oak furnishing and an eco-chic finish. The property is split into two areas - the lagoon swimming pool, spa area, Asian restaurant and Pool View rooms are in an adults only area which is just across the road from the main building. Ocean Front Rooms, Junior Suites and Split Level Rooms are in the main building and offer stunning ocean views from their balcony.
With three restaurants to choose from, guests can enjoy a range of cuisines from Mediterranean inspired dishes at the oceanfront main restaurant to Asian specialties at Shisho. Guests can also make the most of the complimentary water taxi to other west coast Elegant Hotels, where exchange dining is available at a wide selection of restaurants.
The beach at Waves Hotel & Spa is the setting for a range of complimentary motorised and non-motorised water sports, or guests can simply relax on sun loungers with beach service available. One of our favourite things about this property is that they include a number of spa treatments in their room rates, meaning guests are sure to leave feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.
The view from the reception at Waves is just of turquoise blue waters which made me want to run straight down to the beach and dive in! The rooms were immaculately clean and felt really modern and fresh and this was the same throughout the hotel. I really liked the addition of Kima, the coffee shop which had a huge selection of sandwiches and salads. This is ideal if you just fancy a light snack rather than a full meal at lunchtime and, even better, you can enjoy it on the beach.
Rooms and suites at Waves Hotel are split across two buildings - the main oceanside building and an adult’s only area just across the road, where the spa and adults only pool is also located. All rooms feature king size beds, a sitting area with sofa, air conditioning, WiFi, TV, phone, mini fridge, tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer, in-room safe (chargeable).
