The Seychelles, an archipelago of 115 islands in the Indian Ocean, is one of the most luxurious tropical destinations on offer. Sugar soft, white sand beaches combined with the iconic granite boulders provide the perfect backdrop to your holiday. There are plenty of wonderful places to relax and enjoy the brilliant Seychellois sun, but there are also excellent activities and incredible excursions to be experienced. Not sure where to start? We’ve created a suggested itinerary below, complete with luxury resorts, postcard beaches, and extraordinary experiences.
All international flights land on Mahé, the largest island in the Seychelles. Upon arrival, spend 5 nights at STORY Seychelles, a luxury resort set on the stunning Beau Vallon Beach and only 10 minutes from the bustling capital, Victoria. STORY Seychelles places an emphasis on tranquillity and its charming Creole hospitality offers guests an indulgent Seychellois escape. There are seven restaurants to choose from, ranging from a Japanese Teppanyaki to the internationally renowned Trader Vic’s, rated as one of the top restaurants in Mahé. During your stay at STORY Seychelles, we would highly recommend exploring the local shops and restaurants around Beau Vallon Beach, as well as taking a trip to Victoria to soak up a little local culture.
While staying on Mahé, there are plenty of excursions to enjoy. We recommend heading to Sainte Anne Marine Park for a catamaran cruise followed by a guided tour of Moyenne Island. The marine park was established in 1973 to protect the natural sea life and has become one of the best locations for snorkelling in the entire archipelago. Lucky visitors may get the chance to swim with turtles, as well as experience an array of colourful marine life. After an incredible dip in the calm, blue waters, venture onto Moyenne Island for lunch, where friendly giant tortoises roam the beaches.
Following your stay on Mahé, you will be transferred to Mahé jetty from where you will take the ferry over to Praslin Island – a wildlife haven packed with indigenous species and fauna. There, spend five peaceful nights at the beautiful Paradise Sun Hotel, boasting charming Creole style bungalows with views of the breathtaking Indian Ocean. With a focus on barefoot relaxation, it’s the perfect place to rejuvenate your body and mind at the Praslin Spa, offering massage and body conditioning techniques by Balinese-style trained therapists.
While on Praslin Island, we recommend visiting the Vallée De Mai Nature Reserve and Anse Lazio beach – two of the island’s most iconic sites. The Vallée De Mai is a UNESCO World Heritage Site where visitors may spot the rare and endangered black parrot, as well as the legendary Coco De Mer nut. A short drive will take you onto the Anse Lazio beach, regularly voted as the most beautiful beach in the world. The azure ocean, golden sands, lofty palm trees and gorgeous boulder formations are sure to be a sight guests will never forget.
To make the most of your time in the Seychelles, we would highly recommend taking a day trip over to the island of La Digue during your stay on Praslin. Offering a laid-back, sleepier feel than the larger islands, guests can hire bikes or go hiking into the untamed jungles, discovering beautiful natural scenery and some of the Seychelles most iconic beaches. To experience the real Seychellois island life, this is the place to be, with Creole huts under blooming papaya trees, fishermen bobbing past on their pirogues, and tiny villages with friendly locals. Ferries between Praslin and La Digue run regularly and can be booked in advance.
At the end of your stay on Praslin, you will take the ferry back to Mahé, where a private transfer will be waiting to take you back to the international airport for your return flight. You will arrive home having feasted your eyes on some of the most dazzling destinations in the world. You slept in luxury, swam with turtles, explored tropical jungles, dined at gourmet establishments, felt the silk soft sand between your toes, and experienced the authentic wonders of the Seychelles… all for only £3,125 per person!*
