1. Barbados Independence Surf Pro
Held in the month of November, surfers from all around the world gather on the east coast of Barbados for this spectacular surfing event. Spectators can soak up the atmosphere by enjoying local food to the backdrop of live music.
2. Polo
Barbados has a long standing tradition of polo with its first known game being played in 1884. Nowadays there are four world class polo fields but the most famous one remains at Holders Hill on the east coast, where even British royalty have been known to come to enjoy the sport! The season lasts for five months from December to April with locals and visitors welcome to join in with the festive atmosphere.
3. Barbados Food, Wine & Rum Festival
The island of Barbados comes alive during its annual food, wine and rum festival. Guests can watch live cookery demonstrations, enjoy food street parties and choose from special menus at some of the finest restaurants on the island. The festivities run for around 5 days during the month of November – typically a great month to visit the Caribbean as the weather is good and prices are a little lower.
4. Barbados Marathon Weekend
The Barbados Marathon is held during December so maybe you’d like to set yourself a personal challenge or just experience the atmosphere? What are you waiting for!
5. Live Music
Music lies at the centre of Caribbean culture and Barbados boasts a variety of live music offering a range of performances. From casual reggae and calypso on the beach to full orchestral performances at concert hall venues, music beats in Barbados throughout the year.
