Jungle Bay is located on the southwest coast of the unspoilt island of Dominica. Perched above the village of Soufriere overlooking the Caribbean sea, the resort is around 1 hour and 15 minutes’ drive from the island’s main airport and offers guests a secluded, luxury escape.
Sustainability is at the heart of Jungle Bay’s ethos and the resort has been created in with the natural environment in mind. Villas featuring décor by local artisans are crafted from responsibly sourced materials and have been designed to be in harmony with nature. Each villa offers a private hideaway surrounded by tropical forest and some also offer stunning views over the ocean below.
The focal point of Jungle Bay is the al fresco Calabash Restaurant & Bar, where guests can come together to enjoy a gourmet culinary experience. Menus feature organic and locally produced ingredients, and there is an emphasis on vegan and vegetarian dishes. Guests can even learn to recreate the tastes of Dominica by taking part in the weekly cooking classes on offer.
Dominica is a nature lover’s paradise and Jungle Bay offers its guests a varied programme of activities that make the most of its beautiful surroundings. Their unique ‘Adventure Wellness Package’ includes daily scheduled hikes and activities with guides, such as excursions to waterfalls, hot springs and cultural heritage sites, snorkelling, sea kayaking and hiking. Also included is a daily 30 minute spa treatment and daily yoga classes to help guests leave feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. Keen divers can also make the most of the vibrant reefs and fascinating dive sites found just off the shores of Dominica.

I loved how focussed the resort was on sustainability and protecting the environment. When the islands are so stunning, who wouldn't want to do whatever we can to protect it? Jungle Bay does just that, all while offering a fantastic luxury holiday experience.

Location: Jungle Bay is located on the south west coast of Dominica, just 20 minutes from the capital of Roseau and 390ft above the Caribbean Sea.
Transfers: The hotel is a 90-minute drive from Douglas Charles Airport.
Facilities and Activities: The resort has an infinity pool with whirlpool which is surrounded by sundecks overlooking the ocean. There are also hiking trails, two huge 2,500-square-feet yoga studios, a small gym, recreation area, and gift shop. The Bamboo Spa has 14 therapy rooms and offers a selection of treatments including massages, pedicures, manicures and facials. There are a number of daily activities and excursions offered as complimentary for all guests and cater to all fitness levels; activities include waterfall hikes, visits to local villages, nature walks, ocean kayaking and snorkelling trips. Diving can also be arranged at an additional cost.
Dining: The main restaurant, Calabash Restaurant & Bay, overlooks the Caribbean Sea and offers an al fresco semi-open air island experience. The menu offers contemporary dishes which take advantage of the islands organic ingredients and Caribbean flavours.
Accommodation: The resort offers 60 eco villas which are located across the hillside among the banana plants and tropical trees. Each features bamboo furnishings, spa bathroom with rainfall shower, luxury body products, tea/coffee making facilities, a mini fridge and a balcony. Guests can choose whether to stay in a single room within a villa, or to take a whole villa suite which includes the addition of a lounge/sitting area.
