Dusit Thani Maldives is located in Baa Atoll, just a 35 minute seaplane journey from Male. The resort is located on Mudhdhoo island, which is part of the Maldives first UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve and boasts a house reef which surrounds the entire island and is home to endangered sea turtles, rays and reef sharks. The island is also only 15 minutes by boat from Hanifaru Bay, one of the best spots in the Maldives for snorkelling with manta rays and whale sharks.
Thai heritage combines with warm Maldivian island culture at Dusit Thani Maldives. This is reflected in the style of the accommodation, where luxurious beach and over-water villas boast elegant Thai interiors, contemporary amenities and an attentive butler service. Beach villas allow guests to step directly from their private terrace onto the white sand beach whilst water villas provide steps directly into the turquoise lagoon. Most accommodations feature a private pool, and there are also two bedroom options available, ideally suited to families.
Guests at Dusit Thani are spoiled for choice when it comes to dining options. The Market offers sumptuous buffets for breakfast and dinner, serving dishes from around the world in a traditional, Maldivian setting. Sea Grill boasts fresh seafood and grilled specialities in a stylish poolside setting, whilst Benjarong allows guests to sample authentic Thai cuisine complimented by a stunning over-water location. For a special start to the day, guests can even indulge in a floating breakfast served in their seclusion of their private pool.
With its excellent house reef and proximity to Hanifaru Bay, Dusit Thani Maldives is a haven for keen snorkellers and divers. An onsite PADI dive school offers courses ranging from introduction to advanced level, as well as speciality courses and snorkelling excursions. Wellbeing is also a key focus at this island retreat, and guests are invited to take part in activities such as Thai massage workshops, yoga sessions and sound healing therapy to help promote relaxation and rejuvenation.

The villas at Dusit Thani are stunning. We stayed in a beach villa, which was just steps from a beautiful stretch of soft, white sand beach and offered plenty of privacy. The island itself boasts plenty of lush greenery, meaning that there is always plenty of shade to be had whilst exploring and I liked that bikes were available for guests to use to move around the island. We couldn't help noticing the attention to detail that went into everything, from the artistic crepes the chefs were making for the children at breakfast to the tropical decoration on our bed upon arrival.
Children: Children are welcome at Dusit Thani. There is a kids club with tree house, outdoor play area and full activities programme. Babysitting is also available upon request.
Location: Dusit Thani is located on the 16-acre Mudhdhoo Island in Baa Atoll. Guests have the option of a scenic 35-minute seaplane flight, or a 25-minute domestic flight followed by a 10-minute speedboat ride to resort from Male International Airport. Dusit Thani has their own complimentary seaplane lounge at Trans Maldivian Airways terminal, offering free snacks, drinks and representatives from the resort to make the passage as smooth as possible.
Facilities: Dusit Thani offers full-service facilities and amenities including hot and cold jacuzzi, steam room, sauna, outdoor private pools, infinity pool, fitness centre, yoga pavilion, flood lit tennis courts, PADI diving and water sports centre, butler service, buggy service, island shop, WiFi, bicycles, laundry services, 24 medical services, sunset cruise, badminton court, photography studio and daily activities such as Thai cooking lessons and behind the scenes tours.
Spa: The Devarana Spa offers a wide range of treatments including massages, facials, and body scrubs in treatments rooms hidden among the coconut trees and accessed by a sky bridge.
Dining: There are 3 restaurants at the resort offering a variety of expertly prepared dishes inspired by flavours spanning the globe. The Market offers international themed buffets in a relaxing indoor-outdoor brasserie. Benjarong is the resorts signature over-water restaurant, overlooking the Indian Ocean and offering authentic Thai delicacies. Sea Grill is situated next to the infinity pool and serves the finest fusion of land and sea. There are also 2 bars in resort - Sala Bar with its stunning views of the ocean and refreshments crafted by master mixologists, and Sand Bar, the perfect place to enjoy a cocktail, watch the sunset and enjoy the evenings entertainment.
